labkem brand hits the market in 2012 seeking to complement the product range in LabMaterials catalogue, and has been increasing itspresence until today. Our mission is to make LABKEM a trustful brand, so we are taking steps to improve the service and quality everyday, hoping to meet customer needs in an efficient manner.
We have divided LABKEM in 4 families by product application field and, for each family, we have established a series of quality grades in order to identify in a simple way the types of use to a range of products.
Product distribution in FAMILIES - GRADES:
BASICKEM Chemicals in general use in laboratories. It includes the following grades:
AGR – Analytical Grade: high quality reagents for analytical applications with low impurity level (on the order of ppm), according ACS or ISO standards. Includes ACIDS , BASES, SOLVENTS and INORGANIC SALTS.
EPR – Extra Pure: products with the optimal quality for ORGANIC SYNTHESIS, CHEMICAL PREPARATIVE or ROUTINE ANALYSIS applications.
GLR – General Laboratory Reagent: products with the optimal quality for general use.
VSA – Volumetric Solution for Analysis: volumetric solutions, ready to use or concentrated in ampoules, used in volumetric analysis, mostly ACID-BASE.
IND – Indicator: INDICATORS for volumetric titrations of various types: ACID-BASE, RED-OX, COMPLEXOMETRIC and PRECIPITATION.
AUX – Auxiliary Grade: auxiliary products for laboratory uses, including ABSORBENTS, INERTING AGENTS, MAINTENANCE SOLUTIONS and DETERGENTS.
LIFEKEM Products for biological and microbiological applications. It includes the following grades:
MIC – Microscopy Grade: DYES and STAINS in powder or ready to use in microscopy and histology applications.
HIS – Histology Grade: products ready for use in the field of pathology. LABKEM includes this year pre-filled specimen containers with diluted formaldehyde ready to use for preserving samples of tissues.
BAC – Bacteriology Grade: culture media, bases, broths and ingredients for bacteriological applications.
GEN – Molecular Genetic Grade: culture media, bases and agaroses for MOLECULAR BIOLOGY applications.
BIO – Biochemistry Grade: products for BIOCHEMICAL applications in solid form, including AMINO ACIDS or
HORMONES for plant growth.
CERTIKEM Standard solutions for instrument calibration. It includes a single grade:
STD – Standard grade: products for calibration of instruments. It includes pH, CONDUCTIVITY, HAZEN COLOR, COD, RED-OX and TURBIDITY.
INSTRUKEM High performance products for GC, HPLC, LC-MS and ICP. It includes the following grades:
GGR – Gradient Grade: high performance solvents for HPLC (High Pressure Liquid Chromatography) gradient quality.
PGR – Pesticide Grade: solvents for PESTICIDE ANALYSIS by GC (Gas Chromatography).
LGR – LC/MS Grade: ultra-high performance solvents for LC-MS (Liquid Chromatography – Mass Spectrometry).
TGR – Trace Grade: very high purity ACIDS, with an impurity level on the order of 0,1-1 ppb, for sample preparation for TRACE ANALYSIS by ICP-MS/OES (Inductively Coupled Plasma – Mass Spectrometry / Optical Emission Spectrometry). ACS or ISO Acids are recommended for AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrometry), although the performance with TGR acids is excellent.
Labels according to CLP
From December 1, 2010 all manufacturers and importers of chemicals in the EU are obliged
to label them according to criteria of the Directive 1272/2008, known as CLP. CLP Directive (Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures) replaces the previously existing labelling systems and implements in Europe the bigger project called GHS (Global Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals), sponsored by the UN in order to unify the various regulations existing worldwide regarding labelling of chemicals. All Labkem products are labelled according to CLP and include the pictograms and the new hazard (H) and caution (P) phrases defined by this directive.
Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
MSDS are intended to give all available information enabling the safe management of chemicals and eliminating orminimizing adverse effects to humans and the environment. In European Union (EU), MSDS are governed by REACH Directive 1907/2006 and should also incorporate the new classification criteria introduced by CLP Directive. On our Website www.labmaterials.net can download all Labkem product MSDS: English, French, Dutch
Certificate of Analysis
For each Labkem product you can download free of charge a certificate of analysis for any batch on our website www.labmaterials.net. To do this you need to enter the product reference and batch number printed on the label. The certificate mentions the product name, quality, dates of manufacture and expiry, Labkem specifications will allowed impurities and test results with the values obtained for this batch.
